Cheap & cheerful. Cannot beat a fare from Bali to Perth for $50 (cheaper than a cab to the airport) in mid June. Even with luggage & seating added it's under $80. Trip over is only $150 inc baggage. Have flown with AA many times, not only to/from Bali. Only complaint was my luggage not arriving in Vientiane but delivered to our hotel on the next flight from KL.
I do agree that Jet* is vile. Had to fly to the Gold Coast recently as my Dad was dying - over 3 hours delay - no reason or apology, service non existent - and it wasn't cheap at all. Unfortunately, Jet* is the only airline that flies direct to the GC from Perth.
If I lived in the Eastern States with longer flight times to Bali then I would consider flying with Garuda, esp as direct to Bali with AA is not an option for most.
