Luggage all in to our rooms and the family had decided that Flapjacks was our first breakfast, so off we go. Next, out to Carrefour to stock up on things then back to the hotel to spend tha afternoon around the pool. This was one of the best afternoons in my life, sitting at the pool bar in a place you love with my wife of 30 years and watching all our kids ( grown adults ) & grandkids swimming, talking, laughing and joking. We were very happy, content parents & if I had died at that moment, I couldn't have been more satisfied with life.
We had arranged a wedding planner to arrange a venue for our ceremony & dinner and had previously arranged a pastor from a church in Denpasar to perform our vow renewal. We met up with a girl called Epi from Bali Exotic Weddings, who was the planner & she took us down to Jimbaran Bay to the restaurant where the ceremony would be and we discussed the finer details and it was all organised. We then met up with the pastor a day before the renewal and finalised all the details with him and we were set to go.
Wedding Day: Same start as every other day in Bali and because we had spent the last 2 years preparing for this, there was no mad rush for anything. I wasn't allowed to see my beautiful bride after lunch, so I went to Jimbaran with my son, son in law & grandson before all the girls and waited for them to arrive. On arrival, we went out the to the beach to see what had been set up for us and it was way beyond what we had imagined. They had set us to the side of the restaurant front ( The Cuisine ), a bit away from all the table and it made us feel very special. The girls arrived 10 minutes later with my wife and then the concern was, where's the pastor. He arrived about 20 minutes later, after driving up & down the road trying to find the restaurant.
My 4 daughters were all dressed beautifully and they walked me down the aisle to the altar, then my son then walked my wife down the aisle to me. I don't think there was one person not in tears as she came to the altar. We were a blessed family having everyone there as well as some close friends who came over to be with us and also 2 Balinese families who have been very close friends on ours for many years.
More to come............
