Garuda have taken the challenge to get back the Australian flight market to Bali with their drop in prices and advanced discounted fares.
This is shutting out the so called "budget" Carriers Jetstar & Virgin as most would agree it is far better value & comfort to fly Garuda for a few if any dollars more. Example we flew over in Feb with Virgin Cost from Syd.
$650 return then an extra $30 each for luggage, then food & drink on plane $650 turned into $750. Friends flew to meet us at short notice Garuda was $760. Whilst over there Jestar canceled a flight and Virgin took it's passengers but then hello Virgin a few days later canceled a flight and Jetstar took their passengers..is a pattern building ?? Why fly 2 half full planes when we can share. Mean while Garuda are filling their planes for around the same cost to us but with everything including with the bonus more seat and leg room.
Virgin & Jetstar planes are fine to fly in but it's the add on's that start to hurt. These airlines are no longer budget nor competitive. They will cry poor because of wages etc but look at the staff these days a lot are from overseas and paid poorly already..
