I have no desire to go to counties that are similar to where I live and that is why I find Bali unique. Went to Vietnam a couple of months ago and although that was great and we will go again I think our hearts belong to Bali.
I too get bagged by people who don't understand why we keep going back each year but as most on here would understand that once you have the Bali bug you are not really interested in going to other places. That's fine if others do it is just a matter of each to his own.
Besides, although we only live an hour from the Gold Coast it is cheaper to go to Bali for a holiday each year !!
