My first one of these, have done JBR's before...hope its not too boring as we're not planning on doing much !!??
So we flew Air Asia out of Perth Saturday at 1.20...good flight, snoozed a bit ( early start from bunbury !!)had our yummy indo food we'd pre-ordered and before we knew it we were landing.
For the first time in many years we had an airbridge on arrival ( so did friends who flew with jetstar early morn and virgin in evening )this was great, had a long walk to the arrival lounge but I dont mind the walk after sitting for so long.
Got the airport taxi to the corner of legian st and 66 road and Polisi had 66 blocked off so we had to get out of the darn taxi and walk from the corner to Puri Damai in Jln Werkadura...now as i said i dont mind a walk but this was not fun with (luckily ony one ) suitcase and duty free and 2 pices of hand luggage !!!!
Anyhow we made it and it feels like coming home when our little handyman/gardner friend grabs our case and proceeds to deliver it to our room before I had even started to check in !!!
Were met by our early arriving friend Vicky and we grab Bintangs and dry ginger from across the road and have a welcome drink...ahhh we're in Bali !!! YAY
later we walk up to Pearl to show our friend where she is moving tomorrow and then have our first meal at the Jadi Cafe...OMG, this is always SOOO yummy !!! We had salt n pepper prawns, borneo fish and chicken with lime, rice and green beans, a couple of bintangs and water and the total bill is 219.000. Leave there very happy and walk home to crash....
Stormy over night which makes it steamy today but not as hot as it has been before.
Breakkie at Lannai then cab it to look at Villa jaclan where we will be staying in July with our great frinds from the eastern states, looks like a great villa..Walk back to the Bintang and visit our lovely friend from Perth staying at Villa Bettina, great catch up Sharls !!
Check out our friends rooms at Pearl Hotel..both lovely, nice pool and grounds ( have tried the awesome restaurant a few times before ), lunch at 66 cafe VERY nice and then hubby and Vicky go searching for the Eagles game and I settle for a one hour foot massage at Briella...AHHHH
Walk to Queens for some Indian tonight but they cant fit us in !! End up at Mannekepis for a nice but not oustanding meal...very uncomfy chairs ( hubby says especially as he is so tall)..taxi home to crash again....wish we were here for at least 2 weeks as we need it with our restaurant list but as usual will have to cut it short as we only have 5 left !!
have spotted a couple of good shops for jewellery LOVE Jewellery in 66 for the silver/resin look and another one that has those fold up plastic vases out the front !! also in 66...gotta love this street...could be great gifts me thinks !!
As i said this may not be very exciting so if it bores you please dont read !!
