A cordless phone is not the same as a mobil phone. A cordless phone communicates by means of a transmitter to a basestation located within a few meters away connected to a telephone-line. These phones use frequencies that are not worldwide standard, but these differ for each country. Mobile phones uses frequencies (frequencybands) that are standarised worldwide. So cordless phones brought in from abroad will probably use different frequencies than allowed in indonesia and could therefore interfere with other equipment. So they not allowed to bring in and use. Other transmitter using devices like walkie-talkies etc also are not allowed and need special permission or licenses.
