..Bali has one of the most unique music traditions in the world. There are 23 sorts of orchestras, each with a different tuning and/or ritual function. In the 20th century the Gong kebyar made its' enormous breakthrough, but even now newer forms of music, composition, and orchestras are being developed.
So, my question is, why do you go to Bali of all places to learn electric guitar, with all that amazing music happening around you??

BTW, there is a fantastic electric guitar player named Balawan: He uses traditional Balinese musical forms to play jazz, he is very popular amongst the Balinese, and tours U.S. and Europe quite frequently.
