I would definitely suggest a bike tour through Ubud and if you haven't already done so you should go white water rafting. Another thing you might like to do is a cooking class, these often start off with an early morning visit to the market and go until approx 2pm or so.

I haven't done it but would one day like to go to the hot springs and make a few stops on the way to make it seem like it wasn't so much travel time. I am sure there are other attractions where the hot springs are.

Drivers can take you around to many different locations and plan a day trip tailored to what you and your husband want - visit a few temples (which monkeys are also present at a lot of these), do some shopping, stop in and have a traditional balinese lunch, see wood making, go to the silver and gold shops, see the rice paddies, etc. It really is endless.

We have done the bike tour and I would suggest it to everyone, it is a wonderful day out, your learn so much and it is very cheap.
