I always change $100 AUD, as I leave the airport for taxis and that first Bintang! As stated before the rate is only a couple of hundred rupiah difference from the street rate, so I'm always happy just to have some money in my wallet and don't lose out too much. I've used pretty much all of the glassed window booths as you leave the customs area, they are all the same rate. Have fun!
