the best thing is to read the forum before you go. I have found that some expats who seem to try to recommend certain villa's, hotels, and restaurants also harm return visits. One only has to read some expats entries to realise what they are up to. Sometimes they have been over rated like the story in the paper. Read a few JBR's and the reports are not so glossy.
People like Tony Barrass and these expats need to declare their interst, pecuniary or otherwise
