I agree with you that the Javanese are much aligned in Bali. The Balinese can be the biggest thieves around as much as the Javanese are. Basically why the Javanese are in Bali is due to the "jam keret" or rubber time that the Blinese live by and also all the "holidays" that are necessary when you are Balinese. So to fill the employment void outside workers are needeed.
One of the best cities to visit is Jogjakarta in Central Java. The people are great and friendly and the city has a good vibe and not too "halal".
Don't get me wrong as we will always visit Bali and love it but please don't blame everything on the Javanese.
