The only way to distinguish is by language. And even that is not sure...
Lot's of Javanese here speak Balinese like the Balinese and vice versa.
All this "they have bigger/smaller or darker/lighter earlobes, noses, lips" is not true.
Read about Balinese History. See were and when the now Balinese came from. You'll find that this is to short for genetic changes.
