After spending wonderful time in Java, the level of aggresion coming back into Bali was noticeable.
In Java, over a couple of visits, we found people to be VERY hospitable, insisting on us coming in for free drinks.'

A wonderful example of the thieving Javanese, was when a young man asked me to watch his stall while he went off? to do something. His money box (with a couple of 50,000 notes was in plain site.
That says something about a level of trust.
That's my two cents worth.
