My nil travelled ignorant neighbour started ranting about muslims and the hijab and I jumped in failing to draw breath for 5 mins.
I questioned the garb his pope wears- I reminded him of the nuns who taught him & I. No response but his form of defense was the killings.
I wanted to jump the fence but I asked him what he knew of the Inquisition and good old Pope Gregory and many church leaders and priests who followed.
And I insisted - how many people did the muslims kill in Ireland last century and did he know the IRA folk went to mass just like him- then they went home and made bombs.
Don't get me started.
