yes there are kayaks on the lakes and we stopped on the way to Bedugal at some beatiful rice terraces where there were several restaurants with a similiar set up to Kintamani. There is an eco resort set amongst the rice fields and the view from the restuarant was amazing - better I reckon than Tegallalang rice terraces although these ones were not as close but there were mountains as well. It was awesome... Hope that helps.
