I think that Ubud would be a great place to base yourself for the 10 days. Candi Dasa is nice for 2 or 3 days but maybe a bit quiet after that. Ubud is more of a centre to base yourself, close to everything but far enough away to have a totally relaxing time... great shopping, great touristy trips close by and nice restaurants, enough night life to have a fun time....
