We were in Bali June 2011 and it was shocking. It was worse than schoolies the end of the same year. (got the first week if Schoolies in November) Not joking. Eastern States have their holidays a bit earlier than West Aust. Uni students and other schoolies between the 20th and the end of the month were VERY BAD. We went in June to try to miss WA school holidays but never calculated on the Eastern States having their holidays earlier.
We went twice last year. SO if you are going in June try to be there before and leave before about 20th of June
