I used occasional hotspots, but wanted access at any time for Facebook updates and such. It was nice to be able to check the news.com.au website in the morning and post pics to f/book for family and friends at home whenever I felt the need, so paid for the unlimited access. I figured $5-ish for the whole trip was a pretty good deal.
I did notice a lot more free wi-fi around the place this time though.
