We've just returned from 10 days in Bali with the kids who are now 7 and nearly 11. We've been travelling to Bali for so many years and the kids already consider it their second home. With Air Asia being so cheap, we have been making the trip twice a year for the past few years and often in a group with my sister and her family and plenty of friends who decide to join us. This holiday was back to just the four of us and it was really enjoyable to have that quality time all together. We stayed at O-CE-N Outrigger which we love for the location although we missed being in a villa for the peace and quiet and the privacy of our own pool. I don't know how I'm going to survive the teenage years - I was astounded at the lack of respect for others that this particular young group displayed...
So, we stuck to most of our favourite eateries with a couple of new ones thrown in:
Brekky- Zanzibar, The Cornerstore, Grocer & Grind, La Lucciola (best Easter Hot Cross Buns ever!!)
Lunch- The Pub, Grocer & Grind, Switch(? Garlic Lane - best lamb burgers...not sure if I remembered the name correctly), Goodies Pizza
Dinner- Blue Ocean, Lanai (back on form again), Biku (can't go past this one...we LOVE it here and it never fails to please), Ultimo, Kori (top service - those guys really know how to make kids feel special), Mamasan (OMG!)...
Thanks to this forum, we decided to try the Bali Off Course Walking tour in Ubud and it was fantastic. The kids coped really well, the weather wasn't overly uncomfortable and it was something different for us to try. Deifnitely worth doing. Loved it!
We are now home and looking forward to September when we jet off again for 2 weeks...thanks Air Asia :)
