A mega-quake and resultant Tsunami makes a person think what might happen on low areas of this Island (here now) but from what I hear there has not been a recorded Tsunami on Bali of any significance in modern recorded history. If one happened I think it would be a mess because it would be near impossible to evacuate low areas due to grid lock. That said I think the chances of picking a one or two week holiday when a once in a millenium event like that happens are so remote as to not be an issue to worry about. Of greater concern is the traffic and lack of courtesy to pedestrians and the busted up sidewalks with meter deep holes randomly placed. For a short holiday it is easy to look past the negative aspects of Bali and with a bit of effort find quiet, relaxing slices of paradise. If nothing else a good book and a beachbed works wonders. Go and have fun!
