because the issue is not only with changing of ownership, but also changing of land use.
In Bali, the land use is being changed, and that changes many dynamics including loss of agricultural lands, disruption to irrigation to others and a need for supportive infrastructure for the new uses.
In Australia there are much tighter planning and land use controls.
The respective impacts on the island of Bali and the Continent of Australia (almost) are also very different.
You are correct in one respect however, as in Australia the farm is being sold.
In Bali it is "only" being leased.
