I have been to Bali at least 12 times mostly for all of August.Usually stay at the Jayakarta in Legion. For us everything is in walking distance. More restaurants than you can poke a stick at .Usually do at least one day trip each visit but by the sounds of things we might just have to stay put at Legion. Which won't bother us. I'm about to retire & have bought a caravan & will travel around Aus until next Xmas. Will be flying out of Perth early August for our annual trip to Bali. Can't wait.
