Nyepi I hear has allowances, specifically for women giving birth and medical emergencies.
One must follow local customs. If you wanted a beer or pizza then tough, you'd have to wait a day. But if you're pregnant and hemorrhaging is a different story. The couple lives in Indonesia. So it wasn't like they holidayed from New Zealand to Bali while she was pregnant.
