I took Bushman's spray repellent with sunscreen with me this trip and it didn't do me much good at all. The flies still landed directly on my skin within an hour of spraying it on, and I still got a few mozzie bites.
Switched back to using my favourite local repellent, Sofell (available at supermarkets, mini marts etc - and smells lovely) and no real problems at all.
I think the most I paid for the Sofell was still less than $2, either in a spray on mist or a lotion. And they have handy little sprays that you can carry in your bag in case you forget to put it on before leaving the hotel.
