Thank you for making the effort to donate things in Bali. Anywhere you go they will be most welcome...even if you give them to Hotel staff. Every Balinese loves an "oleh oleh" (Gift) If they can't use it then one of their family can. Giving away clothing in bali is so satisfying.

Smudge is easy to donate to and his intentions and actions are totally honorable, and done without ego. Details are on other posts.

Selling them, and any other items you can collect in Australia is also a great idea....but may I suggest that when you get to Bali you buy books, school items and donate those to a school rather than giving direct cash. Items for teachers are also appreciated as they have to buy their own resources.

Having previously been "flamed" on BTF I have learnt NOT to talk about what I do on my regular visits to Bali as I am certainly not doing it for ego, but I will give you an idea of what can be achieved if you raise money before you go as suggested by another Post.

Many people on the Gold Coast give me vast amounts of items to help causes in Bali. Quantities too large to take. Every day in March I have had the opportunity to sell the items and so far have raised $1400. This money will go to a Medical Clinic that provides free treatment to 500 children per WEEK. That donation is a LOT of medicine. I can still take selected items in my luggage as well.
A Garage Sale may not be what you want to do, but try an Afternoon Tea with friends,

Taking clothing is also satisfying so continue on with your idea. Pillow cases and Hand towels also work well.

You could deliver it directly to an Orphanage (am unable to name them here) or there are several "Drop Off Points" where clothing can be left for Bali Kids/ See the Website

Gloria Jeans Coffee at Kuta Square may be the easiest, or at Ahimsa Villa in Seminyak. Label them for Bali Kids. In Ubud, they can be left at Goddess on the Go on Jl Pengosekan...OR just back to the original idea and hand them out to Hotel staff. Any Driver can also take you to an Orphanage. Maybe Google some before you leave.
