from biggest denomination at the back to smallest at the front. I find this the simplest way & for me it works. I think the 100,000 and 10,000 notes cause the biggest confusion - I am pretty sure my hubby (who just shoves notes in his wallet haphazardly) has given out a few 100s when he thought they were 10s! Rest assured, it will be quickly pointed out when you give a 10 instead of a 100 :-)
