as I said in an earlier post, we found May to be much rougher than October. That said, we dived most days, except around the new moon, when the waves were absolutely huge. Many people were still diving though, although the porters had to walk up the main road with the tanks on their heads as the waves made walking on the beach too difficult! We stay at Paradise, and do most of our diving on the coral garden right out the front.

Viz was generally OK, sometimes very good, others a bit murky. That is always the case at Tulamben, better at high tide, more milky in the shallows with rougher seas. In May, the trade winds could be a bit strong and add a few waves, but it was generally cooler above water than October.

We are quite a mature couple, hubby is nearly 72, I'm in my 60's, and I'm a photographer, so we prefer to go when surface conditions are better.
