Hubby and I first went to Bali in October 2009, he was a few months shy of his 70th birthday, I'm a bit younger. We now have our 6th and 7th trips booked for this year - one of 4 weeks, the other for 6 weeks! My hubby originally had refused to go until I threatened to go without him. Now he just wants to keep going back!
So, why not ask the parents what they would enjoy doing? Explian about all the options/places to stay/go/things to do. Perhaps don't stay at a beach area for the whole trip, maybe look at Ubud for a few days. We dislike spending much time around Kuta/Legian areas, although will be having our first stay at Sanur for 5 nights at the beginning of the 6 weeks trip. We always spend 10-14 days in Ubud as we love it so much.
