We are off to Bali for the first time in 4 weeks yay! We have been to Phuket and loved it. We didn't find anybody to be pushy, the stallholders in the markets and also the staff in the restaurants call out to you but they are very friendly and very helpful...
a little story... just before we went to Phuket my 2 children came down with a severe stomach bug, they were both over it when we left but my son still didn't have his appetite... On our first night in Phuket (we stayed in Bangkok first) we were looking for somewhere to eat.. all the staff in the restaurants were calling out to us. We stopped to look at a menu at a restaurant and a staff member came and was trying to lead us into the restaurant. My husband said no sorry, my son wants pizza. He didn't seem to understand, so my husband indidcated a round PIZZA, ahhhh he says, i get you pizza, come sit... ok we say and didn't really think we would have much luck with the pizza... well how wrong were we... he came back 10 minutes later with a pizza in a box FROM ACROSS THE STREET LOL! Gotta love that :)
