I don't think you would buy the 'packages' as such that you mentioned as they would include entry? that you have already paid for by staying at the Park.
When our teenager and his friend came with us we booked them an elephant ride on check-in to the hotel. This can be quite heavily booked but if you're there for 3n that shouldn't be a problem for you.
I'm pretty sure if you want extra safari journey rides you could buy this from the ticket booth near that attraction.
The night safari at the hotel is also WELL WORTH DOING! It is ~17-18USD but was a great experience.
