That's true- it doesn't seem as though you can bargain at all with the cidomo drivers; as I recall (from 2010) every journey they wanted 50,000 rp no matter how far (we stayed on North of island). To get your luggage to your hotel (if its far from the boat, like on the North part) and back, there really is no other option but I would definitely not hire one for any other trips. Expensive and very uncomfortable! Best thing we did while staying on Gili T was to hire bikes for a few days, lots of interesting tracks through the middle of the island and just a better way to get around. Enjoy the snorkelling and have a great trip!
