Well we got caught on both of these airlines. Lost our flight coming home to Brisbane from Bali with Air Australia but got the full refund in 3 working days.
Then I received a text message at midnight on thursday from Air Asia telling me my flight from Darwin to Bali has been cancelled because they are not flying out of Darwin anymore.
Had to rebook the flight with Jetstar saved $200 on the flights but we are travelling a day earlier and had to pay a further $180 for the accommodation. Air Asia have told me I have to wait 30 - 60 days for the refund. My lesson is not to book with any airline that has the word Air in it. I am wondering if someone is trying to tell me not to go to Bali this time.
We have been there 5 years in a row and this is the worst experience we have ever had with the airlines.. but we love the place so much it is worth the troubles
