This is of course when compared with western style designs.
However the fact is that the gold that you will buy in Jl. Hassanudin is much better quality and purity typically than you will buy in your local shopping mall where 9 carat rules the roost.
If you want something more "European" in style, and matching the purity that you expect in Australia, try Malang next to Matahari in Kuta.
They do import some "Italian??" stuff that is coppered and meets the expectations of those who really think that gold is a copper colour.
I would think that Celuk will be no different to Jl. Hassanudin in most respects, and the gold you find there will probably be the colour of gold.
