I use the Post Office when I need $US cash. I buy it when the rate is high. (Incidentally, I don't buy $US to go to Bali).
You could wait until you get to Bali but you might find that the rate has dropped by then. Depends on when you're going. It's a risk you take either way.
No fees involved from the PO. Ask your Bank what their fees are - or just google.
