It is usually easier to tip the Bluebird Cab drivers, too hard to find small money. For the restaurants, I always tip the waiter/waitress personally because they always give good service and are so pleasant. That little bit extra makes their life easier and it nothing to us.
When we book a car for the day, I negotiate well in the beginning and then almost always give them extra mainly because they accept the initial amount and thenn still provide excellent service, stop wherever you want and are very helpful when translation is needed.
