I always round up taxi fares, leave a few Rupiah on the pillow for the cleaners and tip an individual for good service in restaurants etc.
That said on our last trip we couldn't get over the number of cafes and restaurants who were now adding anything up to 21% onto the bill to cover taxes and a service fee (forced tip!). In these cases I almost never left a general tip.
