I think. Best idea is to get your painting into air conditioning before rolling it, e.g. your room, and then leave it for a while to aclimatise. Once it does that, then roll it and take it with you as hand luggage if you can - the hold is much colder and drier than the cabin (yes, that's possible!) so it would be even harder on it.
