day. In the olden days when the service was held at the Sanur Hyatt it was well organised but not nearly as professional as it is today.
A very special thing is the national anthems. One year God Defend New Zealand is played first and the next Advance Strala Fair.
Very moving as it's pitch dark when the service starts and full daylight by the time it ends.
One of the things that has always struck me a surreal is the teens from the International School who always take part with readings, poems etc. Not a Kiwi or Aussie accent anywhere, but that mid Atlantic drawl all those kids have.
Then the good old Australian Government puts on a spread to be proud of and it's even free to the cuzzies across the ditch!
After that Bloody Ron will break the habit of a lifetime by breaking out the Esky and apparantly blatantly breaking the Indonesian laws on gambling.
