suggestions for valuables

Hi All I am checking our of KP and moving to Padma. The padma says they don't have safety dep boxes at reception. So what does one do with valuables while out and about from checkout of one place at 10am until check in at 2pm. Not sure I wnat to walk streets with my weeks spending money and passport?
