Incredible how Bali is changing to the detriment of well known major hotels who are raising their prices in line with the tourism increase. Alone, in the area bounded by Jl Werkudara/Jl Laksamana/Jl Nakula and the Sunset Road, are so many recently opened locally owned budget hotels. Braving the back streets of these areas I amassed no less than 9 new places, charging similar prices. We have just left one after 4 weeks-originally we were only staying for 2 weeks this trip but extended our stay after we encountered the hospitality/budget price of one of these hotels. Where else can you get hot water, aircon, heeeuge room, big beer fridge, large balcony and Balinese breakfast all overlooking the pool for under USD$25/night????
Free transfers, 4 times per day, to any of: Petitenget, Seminyak, Legian, Kuta and Denpasar. Sanur also, but they arrange for their sister hotel to collect you from Denpasar where they drop you-and the pickup/transfer only had us waiting no longer than 10 minutes for changeover. Pickup times are also negotiable (time wise)and when they cannot accommodate, they send a taxi for you. When a taxi is sent after 3AM you are requested to pay half the meter fare and the hotel picks up the other half.
We are only newbies to Bali and have'nt been impressed by the price hike of hotels since my first time here in 2008, but we've already booked 4 more trips this year-woohoo where else can you get this??
