put it in a bag and tie it up securely and put it in the freezer for a week this should kill whatever is there also get a large garbage bag put the wood piece inside and get a strong insect spray and give it heaps then tie up the bag for a day ,then check and see if anything is dead in the bag .
If all this fails burn it !!!
