There is probably a good reason it is so much cheaper, you need to consider why. If you have already booked your negotiating powers will be limited. I would be talking to the person who booked the accommodation and ask if anything can be done.
You may also consider how might feel if you change accommodation, it doesnt work out for whatever reason, your usual place finds out you stayed elsewhere and next holiday you want to return to your usual place.
Its your holiday and its all about feeling good and being happy. $700 is a small price to pay for total peace of mind and a happy holiday.
If all else fails, I agree with pembosix's suggestion to split the time between the two, a sensible solution all round and it wont leave you wondering.
