Yes I agree - cash. Spent years buying stuff and my family have told me in recent years even tho they appreciated it cash would have done a lot more for them. For what I spent on good quality sheets etc. the money would have been much preferred. Now I ask is there something specific or would they like some cash. They always ask for cadburys chocolate and are delighted with a couple of hundred. It's like all the christmas's in one day!!
