I tend to hire drivers over there. Can determine route etc and can bargain fare.
However negative for both locally booked and o'seas booked is that you often get taken to places you didn't want to go...eg a jewellry workshop or similar where driver gets a kickback on your spending. Also restaurants where I would not visit otherwise.
If you know the area can state exactly what you want...otherwise you are in their hands. Such is life!!
