Everything will be closed for the 24 hours of Nyepi. Many if not most shops & restaurants close a day or 2 before to allow staff to return to their villages. And it can take a few days for places to re-open.
Your hotel's restuarant will probably have a limited menu over Nyepi & you will probably have to eat early in the evening on Nyepi Day.
Some hotels do trips to the local Nyepi Eve Ogah Ogah parade for a price - ask.
Be sure to stock up on batteries & snacks & drinks. Candles are a good idea as well as lots of books & DVDs to while away the time. You will be allowed to use the pool but will not be permitted outside the hotel for the 24 hours. The local Banjar patrol the streets to ensure they remain empty.
It's amazing - no noise whatsoever!! Even the roosters & dogs seem quieter. This is a very special time for the Balinese & while it can be a huge inconvenience for tourists it is interesting & the enforced time out is most relaxing & pleasant - but be prepared & stock up.
