Listen to the rythm of the pouring rain.

Sitting on my porch at SBVs having finished breakfast and with the rain pouring down and thunder rumbling around (anyone else too paranoid to swim in a thunder storm?)I find myself with nothing better to do than to post about a couple of lunches we have had. While I am thinking about food, the breakfasts here are really delicious.

Next door to the chemist, which is next door to Hardys, is The Bali Pub which used to be a bit of a dump but has new owners and a reasonably recent renovation but I am not too sure just how new it is since I haven't looked for a couple of years. I had a curry and Brian had a Tandoori Chicken salad and they were both exceptional. Would definitely go back.

Yesterday on the way to the money changer (9730 Yes! Yes! Yes) we stopped at the Ducks for lunch and a cold beer. Brian had fish and chips which he liked. The batter was light and not oily.

Now my meal tickled my sense of humour given the recent argy bargy re the Ducks on here and of course it must be admitted that it doesn't take much to do that so don't expect to rofl or even lol very much. I thought I was ordering squid with salad since the menu said squid with salad/chips and I asked for salad but I got squid, salad, AND CHIPS! I thought I would just eat a couple of chips so as not to offend but never did have good self control and of course ate the lot.

The result of this was that I had to swim a lot of laps back at SBVs to exercise down my blood sugar. For this I absolutely blame the owners and management of the Ducks Nutz and plan to slander (or is it libel in cyber space?) them all over trip advisor which will give me something constructive to do until it stops raining, if it stops raining...
