You are much better off doing your research, and buying in Australia before you go, and then claiming back the GST on departure (which saves you 10%). You will find that anything that is 'the latest' gadget is not cheap in Bali.
When it comes to iPad, Apple set the price somewhat, so the stores are not going to be able to discount much. When buying iPad you need to consider how much storage you want (the more storage, the more expensive), and whether you want wifi or wifi with 3G.
If you go for wifi with 3G it means you can surf the net anywhere using a 3G data card, just like a smart phone - but it means you have a sim. So, you can buy some ipads with the sim, but it is locked in, like phones are.
Also, you have to register your ipad (like you do iphone) to activate it. If you buy it in Indonesia Apple expect it to be registered there. Not to say it can't be used in other countries, but it will always be an 'Indonesian' ipad. There is an international warranty, but it is a limited international warranty - so in some cases they will not support you. It's complicated.
Bottom line, don't go there, you don't save anything, and it is a pain in the butt.
