you ask what is the attraction? well possibly the list below any other comments:
It's a little cooler than some other places,
(Lady in red) made a silly movie there.
plenty of boutique cafes and eateries with outrages prices.
The amount of art in the area (also outrages prices)
There is plenty of small markets but in my opinion they also have higher prices than other areas of Bali.
I personally suggest you try a stay in Sanur you may find the the stay a little more confortable and it is more central to other fine tours around, possibly the Bird Park, Bali Zoo, Bali Safari Park you may even want to checkout the Bamboo cooking class to learn to cook some beautiful Indonesian Dishes.
