Most places do have an umbrella in the rooms, if not I am sure there would be one at reception. We only used an umbrella occassionally in December/jan when it was quite wet. The problem with ponchos is the rain can come on s quick, then be gone again just as quick. Struggling with a poncho in the heat and rain! Ugh! Wait till you get there, see if your room has an umbrella, if not buy one, or a poncho. My friend who lives there says the weather is improving so you might not get much rain.
