I haven't stayed at Rama Garden, however, we stayed recently at Melasti Beach Resort. We stayed in a ground floor deluxe room in front of the pool bar. Whilst the room was clean and very large with it's own sitting area, the pool bar played boom boom from about 11:30 am the noise was dreadful. Also there were many wild cats around which howled day and night (everybody was complaining) None of the cats were neutered, the female cats must have been on heat. The last straw for me was seeing a rat in the room. I went to reception and asked for a room change stating the cats howling and the rat... they offered me the room next door (neighbors moved out because of the music) anyway, we moved further up towards reception with no problems and the music didn't sound so bad from a distance.

Breakfast was the worst I've ever encountered, mainly because the food was uncovered and crawling with flies. The safest option was to order eggs. We attended the New Years Eve dinner and the food was woeful and all I ate was 3 bowls of soup. The staff had worked very hard to accommodate 400 people but only half turned up.

Most guests were disgruntled about something saying they would never return... you can slot me into that category.

However, ALL Melasti Beach staff were wonderful, from reception to the gardeners, maintenance, everybody. I've have to say their staff is their finest asset.
